“Healthy, delicious, and affordable” are the guiding principles to Thomson’s latest healthy bowl eating place – Maisons bowl. A joint venture by three young business owners, Maisons Bowl was birthed out of a lack of healthy bowl choices in the Thomson district, where these three young owners live as well. Despite still being in school, these owners took a leap of faith and poured in everything they had into starting Maisons Bowl, and have been blown away by the support from their friends and the general public since.
We got the opportunity to try 2 of their best-selling signatures: the Grain Bowl ($9.90), and the Banana Walnut Bread ($7.90); and were really impressed by how tasty these dishes were, not to say how they were nicely priced as well. Not only did the ingredients look so fresh (photos are testament to this), every ingredient was seasoned and cooked really nicely! The hearty portion of the magnificient bowl made us feel like we were in some kind of fantasy healthy buffet. Sounds crazy but we kid you not!
For people uninitiated to healthy bowls, Maisons Bowl’s Banana Walnut Bread will never leave you feeling guilty for having a sweet tooth ever again. Further, their Banana Walnut Bread is only just slightly sweet and it felt like we were feasting on a slice of really healthy cake!
All in all, Maisons Bowl exemplifies delicious and really affordable dining. New to the Thomson scene being just about 5 months old, Maisons Bowl is a relatively undiscovered gem. Don’t say bo jio!
